Texturz Hair Studio opened in 2003 in Duluth, Georgia, and is in fact the second salon owned by Michelle McCloud. Michelle’s initial salon in Norcross, Georgia was Shearz Hair Design. Her haircare educational career began in 1984 at Gordon Phillip's beauty school in Philadelphia and in 1991 Michelle moved to Atlanta and opened Shearz Hair Design after working at various other salons.

Behind the name Texturz

The name and meaning of "Texturz" came from the description "Textures" – meaning the shape and physical structure of what hair really is. Michelle realizes, first and foremost, that hair is multi-textural and multi-cultural. Because of this, hair must be understood and cared for in such a way to above all else – ensure its health. Hair is called our “crowning glory” for a reason.

Hair Philosophy

Michelle’s philosophy of hair care is to understand and provide for the “Texturz” in order to produce the most phenomenal of crowns. Michelle's expertise in healthy hair care, chemical, and color has been enhanced through her work with such companies as Avlon, Clairol-Wella, FHI & One. One of Michelle's favorite sayings is “hair color is my love - but hair care is my passion.” She employs staff and has created an overall salon atmosphere that incorporates hair care education, along with a love and respect of clients, the industry, and hair care overall.
